Bath is situated along the Kennebec River and is distinguished for its 19th century architecture. It is a shipbuilding city and its maritime heritage is present throughout the town. Bath is home to Bath Iron Works and has a Maritime Museum with 25 acres of historic waterfront featuring 19th century shipyards and exhibits. From Mulberry House, you can stroll or take the trolley through the historic district of Bath to fine shops, restaurants, and galleries. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings, the city park and the Bath waterfront have free band concerts. A popular farmer’s market with local produce and goods is situated along the waterfront each Saturday morning. Maine Street Bath sponsors numerous events and activities throughout the summer. You can also visit the adjacent peninsulas of Phippsburg and Georgetown with breathtaking views of Popham Beach and Reid State Park. Other attractions within a 45 minute drive include Boothbay Harbor, Bowdoin College, and L.L. Bean.
